Workplace English

Best business English practice in 2026: meetings and interviews

Compare British Council resources, guided workplace scenarios and live tutor practice for interviews, meetings and calls.

Which option solves the real problem?

Business English practice works best when tied to a real conversation: presenting a project, clarifying a deadline or answering an interview question. A general vocabulary app cannot replace rehearsal of your actual workplace task.

This ranking separates distinct approaches by use case; it does not invent test scores, prices or certification. Our own product appears below with clear disclosure of its current limits.

1. British Council LearnEnglish

Structured official learning material to practise language used in professional situations. Select content matching your level and review explanations instead of memorising a speech you cannot adapt.

2. Live conversation tutor

Useful for follow-up questions, pronunciation clarification and realistic interruptions in a meeting. Choose a tutor with experience in the exact scenario; practice and proficiency certification are separate services.

3. Role-play with recorded notes

Practise a short introduction, then replay and rewrite the unclear parts. Track whether the listener would understand the request, decision and next action—not merely how many advanced words you used.

4. Workplace English — our product

Workplace English (our product) offers guided situations for interviews, meetings and calls, with fixed practice exercises and review. It does not yet provide adaptive voice conversation, verified speech evaluation or an official language certificate.

The information in this guide is freely accessible. Our onboarding and member workspace have different access conditions; see the active price, renewal and cancellation disclosures before paying.

Evaluation criteria

Compare relevance to your actual job, feedback quality, repeatability, level fit and evidence of progress. A short scenario completed thoughtfully can be more useful than a long generic lesson.

We refer to real supplier and official resources where relevant. They describe available routes rather than demonstrating that a particular provider is universally superior. Confirm current terms at the source.

Frequently asked questions

Will memorising ten phrases make me fluent? No. Does a speaking exercise provide CEFR certification? No. Does Workplace English contain an AI voice tutor? Not in its current version.
